AskFolder is live Launched April 2026

Calm software, thoughtfully built.

RPTX Software builds focused products that respect your attention, your data, and your time. Our first product, AskFolder, is live today at askfolder.com — a cited, private assistant that turns any folder into something you can actually ask.

01 · Manifesto

We believe the best software gets out of your way — and only earns its place by doing a specific thing better than anything else.

01

Narrow focus

One or two products at a time. Each one earns its development budget by solving a real, specific problem for a real, specific person.

02

Modern stack, shipped carefully

Next.js, React, and TypeScript on the front. Postgres, edge caching, and carefully chosen serverless on the back. A modern, mainstream stack — current without chasing hype, and boring where boring matters.

03

Write the tests first

Every feature ships with a reproduction script. If we cannot break it on purpose, we haven't understood it well enough yet.

04

Respect your attention

No growth hacks. No notification spam. No "free trial" that quietly charges your card. We price honestly and cancel in two clicks.

AskFolder

Turn any folder into a searchable, cited AI assistant — without handing your documents to a black box.

Status Live in production Launched April 2026 Open it askfolder.com ↗

AskFolder indexes your documents — local, Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint — and gives you fast, private, natural-language answers with citations back to the exact page.

  • Search that actually understands

Plain-English questions. Semantic + keyword hybrid retrieval. No boolean operator gymnastics.

  • Citations on every answer

Jump straight to the exact page in the source document. If we can't cite it, we don't claim it.

  • Workspace isolation

Each workspace has its own encrypted index. Your files are never co-mingled with another customer's data.

  • 60-second setup

Connect a source, ask a question. No admin configuration, no professional services call.

  • Secret scanning, built in

Automatic redaction of credentials and PII before content ever touches the model.

  • Delta-sync, not full re-index

Only changed files are re-processed. New docs show up in seconds, not hours.

Built for people who deal with a lot of documents.

Solo counsel & small legal teams

Find the paragraph in the contract that proves your point, cited back to the exact page. Every claim traceable.

Researchers & academics

Query across hundreds of PDFs at once. Compare methods, extract quotes, build reading notes with source links.

Operations & vendor management

Turn your supplier archive into a searchable knowledge base. Answer lead-time and pricing questions instantly.

Engineering onboarding

New hires ask questions in plain English and get answers from the actual docs, not your Slack history.

03 · How we work

A small, deliberate loop.

  1. 01

    Listen

Before a line of code is written, we map the exact problem with the people who have it. If we can't explain it in one paragraph, we don't understand it yet.

  2. 02

    Prototype

A usable thing in a week, not a slide deck in a month. We get something in your hands fast so the feedback loop is real.

  3. 03

    Harden

Tests, error handling, boring infrastructure. The unglamorous 70% of the work that makes software actually last.

  4. 04

    Ship & tend

We stay with our products after they launch. Small, steady improvements beat splashy rewrites. A changelog, not a newsletter.

04 · The studio

Software, made carefully.

RPTX builds a very small number of software products, each designed to do one specific job exceptionally well. We prefer depth to breadth, durability to novelty, and the kind of reliability you only get from watching real users work with a tool over several years.

We ship carefully, iterate quietly, and write release notes that actually tell you what changed. When something breaks, we fix it and write down why.

Questions, answered plainly.

Are you taking on client work?

Rarely, and only for projects that align with what the studio is already doing. If you have an interesting problem involving documents, retrieval, or applied AI, write to us.

Where is RPTX based?

RPTX LLC is registered in Wyoming, United States. We invoice in USD and file US federal taxes transparently.

Who runs RPTX?

RPTX LLC was founded by Peter Acs, a software engineer with twelve-plus years of production engineering experience — more about the founder and LinkedIn. The studio is founder-led and focused on retrieval, applied AI, and document-centric products. For KYC, vendor due-diligence, UBO verification, or any security questionnaire, see our Trust & security overview or email legal@rptxsoftware.com — we respond within one business day.

How does billing work? Who handles the money?

Card payments for AskFolder are processed by Paddle.com, Inc., our Merchant of Record. Paddle is the seller on your receipt, collects applicable VAT, GST, and US sales tax, and issues compliant invoices on our behalf. RPTX LLC itself does not store card data. Enterprise invoicing (bank transfer, PO, or annual contract) is available on request at billing@rptxsoftware.com.

What is your pricing model?

Pricing is published directly on askfolder.com. Flat monthly fees, no "contact us for pricing" tiers, no hidden-inside-enterprise seats. If you can't find the price in thirty seconds, we consider that a bug.

Where can I find your legal terms and privacy policy?

All published at the bottom of every page: Privacy policy, Terms of service, Data Processing Agreement (standard GDPR Article 28 with SCCs attached), subprocessors list, and Trust & security overview. For a countersigned DPA PDF, email legal@rptxsoftware.com and we return one within one business day.

Can we self-host your products?

AskFolder is cloud-first today. Our hosting, encryption, and data-residency posture is documented in full on the Trust & security overview. If you have strict data-residency requirements or need a self-hosted option, write to legal@rptxsoftware.com — we'll tell you honestly what's on the near-term roadmap.

Do you train AI models on my data?

No. Ever. Your documents are yours, and we contract with our AI providers specifically to ensure they do not train on your inputs either. This is in our terms, not just our marketing.

How do I contact you?

Email is the fastest way: hello@rptxsoftware.com for general questions, legal@rptxsoftware.com for compliance, and billing@rptxsoftware.com for invoicing. We reply within one business day, usually sooner.
